The Metropolitan American Youth Football & Cheerleading Conference affectionately known as “THE METRO”, is the longest standing American Youth Football and Cheerleading (AYF/AYC) conference in the state of Maryland since 2008 with associations that have been a part of AYF Since 2007.
Our goals and objectives are to be responsible parents and coaches by ensuring that our youth athletes are safe; help them apply life lessons from sports on and off the field; and through the education of sports, develop children of high character, who lead, persevere, overcome adversity, and function as productive team members.
The METRO consist of football and cheer associations located throughout Prince George’s, Montgomery, Charles, and Talbot Counties in the state of Maryland and the District of Columbia.
The METRO is governed by a Board of Directors, and Executive Officer’s that have adopted AYF’s current governing rules which subscribes to the principles of safety, sportsmanship, and full participation. The “The METRO” will also abide by the AYF rules, which includes age/weight and grade based age protected divisions, in order to participate in AYF state, regional and national tournament competitions.
